Great Star Theater Centennial Fundraising Celebration 🐲

Join us as we celebrate the momentous 100-year anniversary of the oldest Chinese theater in the USA! The Great Star Theater is a magical celebration of culture, art, and tradition in the heart of San Francisco. As the only remaining theater in San Francisco Chinatown, we offer a community space for live entertainment, film, private events, community celebrations, and workshops. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, we are honored to carry this legacy forward, providing a space for live performances, film, and community events.

To keep this spirit alive, we warmly invite you to join us for a special event of celebration and support. Join celebrity guests Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and Ben Fong-Torres as well as San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie as we come together in the heart of Chinatown to celebrate an institution that has touched so many lives for a century.

Event Highlights & Schedule

📍 2:00 PM – Opening Ceremony (Main Entrance on Jackson St. Free to public)
Kick off the celebration with a special ceremony honoring The Great Star’s rich history.

🎟️ 3:00 PM – Doors Open for the Main Event
Step inside and take in the magic of our historic theater.

🤝 3:00 PM – VIP Backstage Meet-and-Greet
Exclusive for VIP ticket holders: Meet Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and Ben Fong-Torres for a behind-the-scenes experience.

✨ 3:50 PM – Main Event Begins Onstage

• Live Entertainment – Enjoy a showcase of Chinese Opera, Martial Arts, Guzheng music and contemporary circus.
• Fireside Chat  – Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and Ben Fong-Torres will share personal stories, career insights, and their impact on the community.

Dress Code: Chinatown-festive attire encouraged.

• VIP Table Seating: $1000/person includes a complimentary glass of champagne, a special centennial t-shirt and recognition in the event program as a premium supporter of the Great Star Theater. VIP guests will be seated right below the stage and invited to a special meet-and-greet with Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and Ben Fong-Torres backstage before the performance. $900 tax-deductible donation.
• Premium Seating: $500/person includes a complimentary glass of champagne and recognition in the event program as a premium supporter of the Great Star Theater. $425 tax-deductible donation.
• Preferred Seating: $250/person. $200 tax-deductible donation.
• General Admission Seating: $100/person. $50 tax-deductible donation.
• Community Supporter Seating: $50/person. Celebrate the arts with Community Supporter seating, designed to make the event accessible to all. $25 tax-deductible donation.

Exclusive Dinner with Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and Ben Fong-Torres: $1200/person (An add-on for the main event ticket)

• Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dine with our special guests Daniel Wu (吳彥祖) and Ben Fong-Torres at a fine dining restaurant. This intimate dining experience promises exquisite cuisine, personal conversations, and unforgettable memories, making it a truly unparalleled experience. Pair this dinner package with any type of main event ticket, then join us for dinner afterwards. Restaurant will be announced upon purchase. Dinner time is 5:30pm - 7:00pm. $900 tax-deductible donation.
